Everdrone secures entry into UK market with LifeLine consortium in BVLOS sandbox

Press release 15.08.2024

Everdrone is proud to announce its participation in the UK Civil Aviation Authority’s Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) Sandbox as part of the LifeLine consortium. This initiative marks a significant milestone for Everdrone as it paves way for live operations in the UK, advancing the company’s current partnership with Air Ambulance Charity Kent Surrey Sussex (KSS) to deliver life-saving medical equipment via drones.

The BVLOS Sandbox provides a crucial platform to influence the development of UK drone regulations while showcasing the practical advantages of drone technology in emergency situations. The LifeLine project is centered around the rapid deployment of critical medical supplies, coupled with real-time video streams to first responders, enhancing the overall efficiency of emergency services and safety for rescue personnel.

Mats Sällström, CEO of Everdrone, stated: “The LifeLine consortium is excited to join the CAA’s RPAS Integration Sandbox to advance UAS operations and shape future airspace regulations. This project is key to using drones for emergency medical services, delivering medical equipment faster than ever before, and providing live camera feeds to first responders, ultimately saving lives.”

The image above showcases a selection of the life-saving medical equipment that can be deployed as part of the LifeLine project, including a Lifepak CR2 defibrillator, a tourniquet, an epinephrine auto-injector (EpiPen), a pulse oximeter, a Restube automatic flotation device, and Narcan nasal spray.

This collaboration with KSS and other prominent partners like Altitude Angel, NATS, and London Gatwick Airport underscores Everdrone’s commitment to innovation and public safety. The trial is to be conducted in both rural and urban areas, contributing essential data to support the integration of BVLOS drone operations into UK airspace.
