Developer update 24.01.2018
Last Friday we left the comfort of our test facility and went for a test flight in the Swedish archipelago. We wanted to stress our hardware by exposing it to a long-distance flight under harsh weather conditions and see how battery life and flight stability were affected.
We also performed a series of precision landings to see if and how our optical flow-based visual navigation system would be affected by snowfall or navigation above water.
In general, the system behaved as expected but we also did some valuable findings to be used for continued development, making our system even more robust. Because in real-life – when transporting life-critical cargo such as medicine, blood bags, an inflatable life preserver or a defibrillator – there is no room for errors.
